The Willow Tree

Our Philosophy:

The WillowHill Group is a unique business advisory practice with over 60 years combined experience in business & personal finance and expertise in the operations of successful companies. We use our collective experience and wisdom to strategically align the operational structure and financial management of businesses for fast organic growth.

In every customized project, we start with the end in mind, and then use creative, reliable processes to quickly stimulate growth and creativity in our clients. We believe that there are three major areas that make a business successful:

1. The people.

The number one asset of a business is the people. We believe that a positive, healthy business culture within an organization stimulates creativity and promotes increased productivity and efficiency. In other words, if the people working in the business are happy, their clients will be happy too. A management guru, Peter Drucker, said that there is not a single person who is exactly perfect for one specific job; the trick is to find someone who fits it well enough to contribute to the vision of the company.

Finding the right people and encouraging their unique abilities within the business model creates a cohesive and powerful team. We emphasize organic growth because we understand how important people are to the success of a business from the inside-out.

2. The business model & structure.

Surprising to many, the second most important part of a successful business is not the product or service, but rather the business structure itself. With a proper structure, communications flow easily and decisions are implemented more effectively and efficiently, creating the highest quality product or service. The structure of the organization supports the product or service, and it is what separates a business from just a good idea.

"Cash is King." For small and medium sized businesses, the bottom line is cash flow. Cash is what allows operations to flow smoothly as revenues are generated. The ideal situation is to have reliable and predictable cash flow to support operations from revenues. External funding is usually needed to accomplish this predictability. Any business that has attempted to obtain external funding knows that a good business structure, and the ability to communicate a positive financial picture, is crucial in raising capital. This is because the investors understand the risks of investing in small and medium sized businesses. They need to see that the business has a written and feasible plan supported by a solid infrastructure.

3. The product or service.

Ultimately, it is the product or service that generates revenues. The product or service of a business must be compelling to the consumer and aligned with the vision and strategy of the company. What the product is and how it is marketed will determine the profitability and long term viability of the business. Also, the business structure and people will allow a growing company to expand, or change their offering to better fill consumer needs. We help our clients improve their products and services by aligning them to the overall vision and organization of the company.

Coordinating these three areas of business can be tricky and confusing in a dynamic market such as the one we are living in today; with all of the technological and economic changes, there are more opportunities for success, as well as failure, than ever before in history. Believe it or not, the most important element to a business's success is not the product or service - it is the people.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to be the leader in creative solutions for small and medium sized businesses by rapidly positioning them for growth. We help our clients quickly raise their profits and lower their risks through strategic alignment. We promote a balanced professional and personal life for the employees within an organization.
